It just got easier for visitors from Europe to visit South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park.
Eurowings Discover, Lufthansa’s long-haul leisure brand, will this year become the first intercontinental airline ever to start scheduled flights to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA).
The service will form a direct Iink for the German market to directly access the Kruger National Park from Frankfurt. The park is extremely popular with holidaymakers from Germany, who will now be able to reach it faster and more directly.
In its first season (November 15, 2022 to March 25, 2023), the airline will fly three times a week from Frankfurt to Mbombela KMIA, with a short stopover in Windhoek.
The carrier has a strong commercial focus on leisure destinations on the African continent, and Kruger Mpumalanga is the seventh destination offered by Eurowings Discover on the continent after already starting services from Frankfurt to Mombasa, Zanzibar, Mauritius, Windhoek, Victoria Falls and Kilimanjaro.
What to expect:
Eurowings Discover promises a high-quality product with many services included. The aircraft offers up to 300 seats, up to 30 of which are in business class (lie-flat seats), up to 31 in premium economy and up to 244 in economy. The flights are bookable via all usual booking channels, including the GDS. We are thrilled to have this new flight to the Kruger National Park, making it much easier for our guests to travel and we look forward to meeting you during your Kruger National Park Adventure.
This certainly great news, as it opens the skies to direct flights from Europe. Another factor is their pricing. Current prices are very good for travelling tourists wanting to access South Africa and the Kruger National Park.
