Day 1:

Your adventure begins with a warm welcome, whether you’re collected in Johannesburg or arriving at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. From there, the road leads you to Hazyview, where your comfortable home awaits, your base for the next five unforgettable nights. By midday you’ll settle in, greeted with a light lunch lovingly prepared by your hosts. Depending on your arrival time, the afternoon holds your first taste of the wild: an exhilarating game drive through the legendary Kruger National Park. As the sun dips and the gates close, you return to your accommodation, where the aromas of dinner fill the air. Relax with a glass of wine or your favourite drink as you watch your evening meal being prepared, the perfect ending to your first day.

The morning begins with a hearty breakfast before you set off to explore some of South Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. The dramatic Blyde River Canyon, the iconic Three Rondavels, and the awe inspiring God’s Window are all on the day’s itinerary. Lunch is enjoyed at the Gorge, followed by a descent into its depths via a scenic lift, where walkways wind through indigenous flora and fauna. For thrill-seekers, the bridge swing offers an adrenaline rush like no other. By late afternoon, you return to your accommodation, where a traditional meal awaits, prepared with care by your hosts.

Day three is all about adventure and connection. After breakfast, the excitement builds with quad biking and tubing down the rapids of the Sabi River. A traditional lunch fuels you for the afternoon, which takes you into the township for a cultural immersion. Here, you’ll meet local residents, learn about their daily lives, and even join children by the river to collect clay, shaping it into sculptures together. As the day winds down, you return home with stories and memories etched into your heart.

An early start on day four takes you back into Kruger for a full day safari. Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed within the park itself, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the bush. The evening brings something truly special: a gathering with community members, where traditional storytelling and dance open a window into the rich culture of Mpumalanga. It’s a night of rhythm, heritage, and shared humanity.

Day five begins with breakfast before you head to Elephant Whispers, where you’ll have the rare chance to feed and learn about these gentle giants. The journey continues to the Reptile Park, home to an astonishing variety of snakes, crocodiles, and amphibians. Lunch is a vibrant street-side affair, bursting with local flavours. By mid-afternoon, you’re back at your accommodation, free to unwind by the pool or indulge in birdwatching. As evening falls, dinner is prepared over an open fire, a fitting finale to a day steeped in discovery.

On your final morning, after one last breakfast prepared by your hosts, it’s time to bid farewell. Your transfer takes you back to Johannesburg, arriving by late afternoon, or to Kruger Mpumalanga Airport for your onward flight to Cape Town or Johannesburg. And with that, your journey comes to a close, six days of adventure, culture, and unforgettable encounters in the heart of South Africa.

Nestled in the heart of Hazyview, Mpumalanga, our guest house offers the perfect sanctuary for travelers seeking a premium base near the Kruger National Park and the iconic Panorama Route.
